Bao Nghi Ngo
Bao Nghi Ngo is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist based in Dallas, Texas, whose work explores memory, family history, migration, and cultural identity through alternative photography, printmaking, textiles, and installation. Combining archival imagery, cyanotype, sewing, weaving, and other process-driven techniques, she considers how memories and inherited histories shift across generations.
Ngo holds a BA in Biochemistry from the University of North Texas, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Distinguished Honors College Scholar. Her undergraduate thesis, Lost in Time: An Arts-Based Autoethnographic Inquiry into Traumatic Brain Injuries, grew from her own experience with a traumatic brain injury and its effects on memory. These questions have since expanded toward family archives, migration, and inherited memory.
Her work has been exhibited across Texas, including at the Texas Vignette Art Fair, Artspace111, and 400h Gallery. Ngo was a member of The Cedars Union’s Cohort V Artist Residency and is currently an AiR: Underground Artist in Residence at Arts Mission Oak Cliff. She is also a 2026 Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund recipient and McDermott Fellow.
